There are two more events in the Lorenzo Reading Series this term:
- Nov 3 – Secret… by Kevin Donovan– Ganong Hall Lecture Theatre, 7:00PM
- Nov 24 – Daydreams of Angels by Heather O’Neill– Ganong Hall Lecture Theatre, 7:00PM
In addition, other literary/cultural events are eligible, such as Saint John Theatre Company productions or other book readings. Check with me when in doubt.
Remember: for each event you attend, you will receive 0.5% added to your final grade. For each brief review you write, you will receive up to an additional 0.5% added to your final grade, for a total of up to 1% for each.
I was very sorry to miss the Lorenzo Society reading this evening but duty called, in the form of a “meet the teachers” meeting at my son’s school. I hope someone who went decides to write about it so I can get an idea of what I missed.
Every year UNBSJ hosts an excellent reading series organized by the Lorenzo Society. I am offering bonus marks for either of two levels of engagement:
- Dipping your toes: for each reading you attend, you will receive 0.5% added to your final grade. There are five readings scheduled this term.
- Going for a swim: for each brief review you post on your class weblog, you will receive up to an additional 0.5% added to your final grade, for a total of up to 1% for each.
The first reading of the term is scheduled for Wednesday September 14. Debra Komar will be reading from Black River Road, a 19thc true-crime narrative set in Saint John. The other readings will be on campus but this one will be at the New Brunswick Museum in the Mary Oland Theatre at 7:30PM.
There should be a more detailed brochure coming shortly. I will link to it here. All readings are free.
